District 39 Battles Unoccupied Dwelling Fire in the Ferrell Section

Sunday, October 14, 2012 2317 District 39 and station 36-1 was dispatched to a reported dwelling fire late Sunday night. Chief Boeckle was first on scene and reported a 20' x 30' fully involved dwelling. The fire was quickly knocked down and placed under control approximately 14 minutes into the job. The construction of the dwelling proved to be tough for firefighters that were on scene. Two campers were married together, and a wooden frame was constructed around the outside of the campers. This made the dwelling look like a standard single story house, when in actuality it was 3 separate structures. The fire is still under investigation.
